Brandon Liew is a music producer and composer for television, film, and games.
He works with electronic music producer and composer Ryan Lofty (Future Vega) on Fast & Furious Spy Racers (2019), Cleopatra in Space (2019), and Doug Unplugs (2020) for DreamWorks Animation. He has written library music for Keeping Up with the Kardashians (2007), Total Divas (2013) and Ball in the Family (2017).
Brandon specializes in producing electronic music for media and often incorporates EDM, rock, and orchestral elements to create hybrid scores. He received 2nd prize for the 2019 SOCAN Foundation Awards for Emerging Audio-Visual Composers and was a finalist for the 2017 Sundance Music and Sound Design Lab. He is the composer of Battu, an animated hip hop musical from Chaz Bottoms (Director/Writer/Animator) and Academy Award winner Matthew A. Cherry (Executive Producer).
As an artist, he has co-written and produced singles that have received national coverage on POPDUST and Global Dance Electronic. Future funk, kawaii future bass, chiptune, and hip-hop are common elements of both his artist releases and scores for games, for publishers like Humble. His latest kawaii electro-pop EP, "VIRTUAL CANDY", is a love letter to the underground Japanese kawaii future bass and future funk scenes.
Brandon is based in Calgary, AB, where he feels at most at home with the snowy winters of Canada (but sometimes misses the sunny weather in LA).
